Amanda Armbruster, Founder
Amanda attended the University of Texas at Austin. While at UT, Amanda majored in American Studies with a Minor in Spanish. She is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After college Amanda planned to attend graduate school, so as she prepared for the GRE exam, she decided to take a job teaching preschool at St. Luke’s Day School. She absolutely fell in love with child development.
Amanda earned a Master’s of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston. While in graduate school, Amanda took an internship with an incredible Child Psychologist, Dr. Michelle Forrester. Amanda completed her post-graduate internship at Dr. Forrester’s office as well. Now, Amanda continues her work there part-time doing individual and group therapy, parent training, and school consultations as a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Amanda has always wanted to help children through tough times. She believes that childhood is precious and should be the happiest time of a person’s life. Childhood is also an important time for social and emotional development. These days, more and more stressors are impacting our children. So, as a new mom, Amanda wants to use her experience as a children’s therapist to help caregivers become the most confident they can be and provide a strong foundation for children. Amanda wants to bring her knowledge and expertise in child development from the clinical world to the average household and classroom.
What is Take a Break Tots?
